2007 Twin Lakes Celebrity Showdown NOW ON DVD!

TM2 Productions presents their first independently produced DVD, the 2007 Twin Lakes Celebrity Showdown. The event from May 28th, 2007 contains over 45 minutes of total footage including:

- A broadcast version of all 9 holes to follow the action
- Top Shots: a countdown of the best shots of the event
- Biff Reel: montage of the worst shots and comedic moments
- The original web trailer with DVD quality

This DVD comes with a case and packaging and is available for a reasonable donation plus shipping and handling (if applicable). Proceeds from the DVD help benefit future TM2 DVD releases.

2007 Twin Lakes Celebrity Showdown: THIS SATURDAY!

The golfers of the Twin Lakes Celebrity Showdown (TLCS) return to Kittanning for the 4th Annual 2007 Twin Lakes Celebrity Showdown, an event being taped and produced by TM2 Productions. Defending champion *shudder* Greg Reedy will be driving all the way from his home in Ridgway, PA to defend his title and make Gary look like an idiot. Gary Ashley, a 2-time TLCS Champion in 2004 and 2005, will seek revenge and good quality footage for him to edit for the forthcoming DVD. Gary's dad Edward Ashley will bring his golf bag on training wheels and provide his usual savvy golf knowledge of using a driver on a 70 yard hole.

From a production standpoint this year will involve the use of a tripod for more stable shots and the automatic camera setting, a faux pa of last year's footage coming out blurry. With the inclusion of additional battery life will result in more footage and more extra features. We can reveal that there will be drug testing before the event due to Gary's suspicion that Reedy was on steroids when he won last year. No formal DVD completion date has been announced at this time. In year's past a full broadcast, highlight shots, the famous "Biff Reel", and an online trailer have been provided to viewers.

In 2004 Gary Ashley won the inaugural TLCS against Greg Reedy by 8 shots in an event that was recorded with roughly 5 minutes of digital camera footage. The year 2005 saw a name change (The Twin Lakes Charity Showdown) and the use of better video equipment and editing software, plus the addition of Gary's dad Ed. Ed provided a great many memorable moments while Gary won the event by 6 shots over Reedy. 2006 was a bit of a slide on a production end as some of the footage came out blurry while Gary's mom Penny ran camera to much confusion. Reedy triumphed in the event as Gary got off to a horrible start losing both balls off the first tee. Reedy won the event by 2 shots.

2006 Twin Lakes Celebrity Showdown Live Call-In

It was the best of rounds, it was the worst of rounds.

Let's put things into perspective.

About a month ago in a golf outing with Reedy I shot a personal best at Twin Lakes, a +7. I ended up routing Reedy that day by 12 shots.

Now let's fast forward to today's round, this time add 14 extra shots to my score, lost 4 balls, break a 4 iron over a tree, and rip your golf glove. Amazingly I wasn't kicked out for my Macenroe-like antics.

Today after coming off of the best round of golf ever was the worst round of golf ever, shooting a personal worst +21. Reedy won by 6 shots, the first time I've lost to Reedy ever and the first time I've lost period since 2001, when dad beat me during a late game.

As to what exactly happened, I can attribute it to the fact that pretty much my mind was focused on sleeping rather than trying to put the ball in the hole. Or in play, for that matter. Man cannot golf on 7 hours of sleep while sweating like a hostage and dehydrating.

The bad round originally started on the 2nd hole, a hole I have never lost a ball on to begin with. I hit it with the heel of the club and veered into the high grass. OB. The next hole was much worse, finishing with a record high 9 after hitting one in the woods, hitting the 3rd shot into an unplayable location, and then three putting. A par the next hole, an 8 and 3rd lost ball after a bad bounce. 7th hole I hit it way left of the hole, still in play, but to release some anger I swung for the fences on the 4th ball I had and sliced it way right and into the woods, then proceeding to chuck the club in there also which wrapped around the tree. When Reedy saw the club split in two he had that classic "Oh shit, the guy's gone psycho on me (again)." look. From there on I was just concerned about putting the ball in the hole as quickly as possible timewise, not scorewise.

As for the golf glove apperently it got ripped somewhere along the way but didn't notice until after the round was over. My guess was that it got ripped with all that club chucking I did.

As for the broken 4 iron, I still have it and plan to make into a trophy for next year's taped golf outing. Put some duc tape on that to a piece of plywood, spray paint until golden, and then go nuts with an engraver, and you my friends have a trophy.

So thankfully that'll be the last bit of golfing I'll be doing for the year.

The Fight for Chess Club

I spent my spring break at home for one week during one of the coldest times of the year. I passed on lavish warm foreign occasions or traveling adventures. No Canada, No Cancun, nothing like that.

And to be honest, it was the best spring break yet.

Filming was completed yesterday for Chess Club, which is quite possibly to date the largest video project I have done. Even though video production is not my specialty, for this it shows I've come a long way since filming Toasty and Offer You Can Refuse.

There were a few goals for this project:

1) Avoid the RMU Academic Media Center at all costs. Chess Club is my 3rd project for my TV Post Production class. The first one took 4 hours to complete, the second one was so frustrating to do I did it on Windows Movie Maker, even then converting it to Quicktime the quality lacked. You could compare that place with Wal-Mart: anytime you're looking for help, there's not a person around that can help you to the fullest extent. Editing this film at home with Videostudio 8 (from Ulead Systems, a VERY pimp program) was not only productive, but didn't require me to spend all-night render benders at the house of the failing technology. Also known as the Media Center. And one reason being that they royally fucked up everyone's copies of the Grease DVD.

2) Complete the project with minimal bitching.

A high school student (Greg Reedy) rejected by the social cliques of his high school finds help in trying to make connections with friends. This changes when he meets a mysterious chess enthusiast (Gary Ashley) and things spiral out of control into a whirlwind of events. Chess Club is a parody of the 1999 20th Century Fox film Fight Club and is directed by Gary Ashley, produced by TM2 Productions. Filming was shot on location in Kittanning, PA.
