triumphs, tee shots, and frustrations

greetings as I emerge from my hole in the sand in Farmstrong County. and before you say anything else, I was down there cause I lost my watch. Here's the latest news from my world.

Ghetto Heights Country Club opens

DATELINE: Kittanning Twp. It's not really Kittanning, and it's not really a Township. It's both. Yesterday marked the official opening of the household's outside green. Major renovations to the green have been made as the putting surface is now leveled off with huge amounts of landscaping and sand. This is in stark comparison to last year, where the carpet was just layed out over grass with no treatment, and the slightest nudge would knock the ball off the green.

A Nine-in-one hole course was drawn up marking key situations golfers would face and/or duff severely at on a real golf course such as Twin Lakes. The course was played following the grass being cut the day before.

The highlight so far of the new course was an approximate 75 yard hole-in-one by Gary Ashley with a 9-iron, going downhill and to the left and rolling in. However, technically the hole in one does not count because of no witness and the non-SGA sanctions. Nonetheless, it is still impressive.

Huge-ass yard sale to take place soon, eBaying started

DATELINE: The cluttered basement of here, and a bunch of other locations around the house. Many things that can no longer be cared for or used by the household will be sold tenatively this Saturday at a spur the moment yard sale. This is well before the intended date of another yard sale with the aunt, but since there is so much stuff a pre-yard sale will take place. The eBay auction for most of Gary's old Hot Wheels stuff is nearing a close with the current bid at $5 (auction link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6964865056). The yard sale will feature a great amount of toys and old video games for the Playstation, so make it worth your while to stop by. What doesn't sell there will be added in the yard sale mentioned above, or eBayed. What does not sell at the above yard sale will be burned or shot putted at an empty parking lot.

Do-or-die time for Gary's future approaching, parallel parking increases stress

DATELINE: The DMV in West Kittanning. #591, have a seat, and see if someone can fix that take-a-number machine. For 5 years Gary has had the opportunity to get his car license. Two years ago he got his permit. He has had no real use or effort to get his license. Now, realizing that at this point that he missed out on some great opportunities, not only with a job but with girls and the such, plus tired of hearing the results of the showcase showdown from dad, he has sought out to finally get his license. What is standing in his way is the last piece of the driving puzzle, the dreaded parallel parking. No formal date has been date as of yet, but it is predicted that it will be fairly soon. Please wish Gary tons of luck. He needs to get out more.

  • Gary, you are too funny. Obviously I interpret this to mean that you have inherited much genetic wit from me. :)

I wish you tons of luck.
